Samsung starts Android 4.0 rollout for Galaxy Note, reports say

From CNET News.com: Samsung has started to roll out Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) to Galaxy Notes in Europe, according to several reports.

News of the rollout originated from Devin Balentina, a Netherlands-based Galaxy Note owner. Balentina, whose tweet was first discovered by The Verge, posted an image of the software update alert, which includes mention of a host of upgrades, including the new S Note App's "advanced note-taking [and] productivity tools." The update also includes the S Memo Widget, and a host of other improvements.

Although one person getting access to Android 4.0 is by no means a smoking gun, Samsung-tracking site Sammy Hub is reporting today that Germany-based members of the XDA Developers forum have also gotten their hands on the update.

Galaxy Note owners had hoped to get Ice Cream Sandwich in the first quarter, but Samsung back in March announced that the "premium suite upgrade" that would accompany the Android 4.0 update wouldn't launch until the second quarter. The company said that the update would be rolled out worldwide, so even if it's currently only available in parts of Europe, hopefully it'll eventually make its way to other countries.
